High School and Vulcan Football Games on CUTV & WCAL
(ATT: SPORTS DESK)CALIFORNIA, Pa. (August 21, 2003)…California
University Television (CUTV) will rebroadcast selected high school
football games each Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. and Thursday evenings
at 5:30 p.m. on the Armstrong, Charter Communications, and Comcast
cable outlets.
Listed below are the games that CUTV will cover this autumn with
the actual game date.
Beth Center at Geibel (Sept. 5), Carmichaels at California (Sept.
12), California at Frazier (Sept. 19), Greensburg Salem at Uniontown
(Sept. 26), Southmoreland at Charleroi (Oct. 3), Mount Pleasant
at Belle Vernon (Oct. 10), Elizabeth Forward at Brownsville (Oct.
17), Hempfield at Connellsville (Oct. 24), and the opening round
of the WPIAL playoffs (Oct. 31-TBA).
Cal U campus radio station WCAL (91.9 FM) will broadcast a high
school football live each Friday night. WCAL begins its weekly scholastic
football broadcasts at 7:20 p.m. each Friday night and the opening
game will feature Monessen at Charleroi on Friday, August 29.
The remaining WCAL high school football schedule includes Sto-Rox
at Monessen (Sept. 5), Yough at Uniontown (Sept. 12), Waynesburg
at Brownsville (Sept. 19), California at Monessen (Sept. 26), Fox
Chapel at Ringgold (Oct. 3), California at Jefferson Morgan (Oct.
10), Belle Vernon at Uniontown (Oct. 17), and Bentworth at Beth
Center (Oct. 24).
As always, WCAL will also air each Cal U Vulcan football game live.
CUTV will rebroadcast the Cal U football games each Monday and Tuesday
night following a Saturday game at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively
on the three cable outlets (Armstrong, Charter Communications and
Comcast).
Cal U’s football schedule with game times is as follows:
at Eastern Illinois (Aug. 30, 6 p.m.), Fairmont State University
WVa. (Sept. 13, 7 p.m.), at West Virginia Wesleyan (Sept. 20, 1
p.m.), Cheyney University of Pennsylvania (Sept. 27, 7 p.m.), Slippery
Rock University of Pennsylvania (Oct. 4, 7 p.m.), at Lock Haven
University of Pennsylvania (Oct. 11, 2 p.m.), Indiana University
of Pennsylvania (Oct. 18, 3 p.m.), at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania
(Oct. 25, 1 p.m.), Clarion University of Pennsylvania (Nov, 1 7
p.m.), at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (Nov. 8, 1 p.m.),
and at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania (Nov. 15, 1 p.m.).
Cal U’s Family Day and Homecoming Day are Oct. 4 and Oct.
18 respectively.
Rich Bogard and Adam Balk will handle the CUTV high school football
broadcasts while Ben Slazek and Bob Mackowski will handle the WCAL
high school football announcing duties.
