  • achievement Microsoft® Corporation introduces
  • Office XP.

Reliability, Data Recovery, and Security
  • In the event of an error,
  • Document Recovery gives
  • you the option to
  • automatically save your
  • document, so you don't
  • lose a moment's work.

5
"Document Recovery"

      • Document Recovery
          • Users have the option of saving
          • their current files at the time an
          • error occurs.  As a result,users
          • spend less time recreating their
          • presentations.

6
"Auto Recover"
  • Auto Recover
      • Automatic recovery enables you to
      • choose how often files are saved. If
      • an error occurs, you can discard
      • the recovered file, save it in
      • place of the original, or keep it as a
      • separate file.

7
"Application and Document Recovery"
      • Application and Document Recovery
          • This provides a safer method
          • for shutting down any Office XP
          • program if it is not responding.  Users
          • can choose to shut it down
          • while initiating recovery.  The
          • user can also report the
          • problem to Microsoft at the
          • same time.

8
"Document Password Encryption"
      • Document Password Encryption
          • When users save their work,
          • they are now offered the choice of
          • setting a password on the document
          • that protects the user’s data while
          • allowing others to still view the
          • presentation.

9
"Application Error Reporting"

    • Application Error Reporting
        • Office XP programs can automatically
        • report errors directly to Microsoft or a
        • corporate IT department. Error information
        • can be used to correct problems and provide
        • ways to work around the problem.

10
"Smart tags work by recognizing..."

  • Smart tags work by recognizing certain
  • types of text and then offering related
  • functions and commands. The indicators are
  • visible, but not intrusive, usually taking the
  • form of a color dotted line under text. When
  • users place the pointer over that text, the
  • smart tag action button appears and they
  • can click to see the available options.

11
Send for Review

  • When a document or presentation is sent for
  • review, the correct reviewing tools are
  • automatically provided.  When the
  • presentation is sent back the users can merge
  • the changes back into the document.
12
Markup

  • Office XP users now can easily
  • track the changes that are made to their
  • presentations.  The Markup feature allows
  • users to track changes made to their
  • presentations by using “call-outs” within the
  • presentation (call-outs detail the substance
  • of the change without obscuring the
  • presentation or affecting its layout).
