Master of Arts In Social Science
Criminal Justice
The Master of Arts in Social Science, Criminal Justice Track, is offered in an accelerated cohort format at CalU's Pittsburgh site at the Regional Enterprise Tower in downtown Pittsburgh. The program is housed in the Department of Professional Studies within the College of Science and Technology. Both academics and practitioners whose pedagogy blends theory and practice teach classes within the department. The curricular mission is to prepare learned and erudite practitioners who will assume leadership positions in the justice sector and make substantial contributions to the betterment of the legal and justice systems and the community served.
The duration of the program can be as short as one calendar year depending on course enrollment and the desires of the student. The course delivery generally follows a two night per week model, though there may be a three-day cycle once during the program of study. The academic program is challenging and enriching and expects its graduates to be capable in research and analysis of complex problems and the coherent advocacy of justice policy principles and ideas.
