Technology education is a vital aspect of education for all students at all levels in Pennsylvania, as well as many additional states and countries. It promotes the development of technologically literate citizens by studying the broad spectrum of technology. In contrast, educational technology focuses on using computer technology to enhance instruction. This degree is not intended for individuals interested in educational or instructional technology.

 

Distance learning via the web is an exciting opportunity that allows you to take classes without coming to Cal U’s main campus. This program is delivered fully over the web.

The goals of the program include:

1.    Develop standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment materials.

2.    Evaluate and synthesize literature related to the field of science, technology engineering and mathematics.

3.    Develop a proposal for improving the complete technology program.

4.    Develop a strategic plan for an educational program.

5.    Research, develop, and defend a grant proposal.

6.    Evaluate the impacts and consequences of technology nationally and internationally and make informed choices.

7.    Design, investigate, implement and evaluate a major culminating research experience.
