Effective Spring 2007, current Active Duty U.S. Military enrolled in Cal U Global Online programs are eligible for in-state tuition. Students must self-identify prior to the start of his/her first term by notifying Mr. Robert Prah, Director of Veterans Affairs, phone 724-938-4076, fax 724-938-1569, or via e-mail at prah@cup.edu.

New applicants will need to present the following documentation for the initial verification of current Active Duty Military status:

· A copy (front and back) of your Military ID card and

· A letter from your Education or Personnel Office or a copy of your Deployment Orders that confirms and verifies the dates of Active Duty service/status

If you are a current student utilizing the Tuition Assistance (TA) program, your TA form will be sufficient to verify Active Duty for each term enrolled after the initial verification of Active Duty with the above documents.

Please Note: Military students who are utilizing the Tuition Assistance (TA) program must submit their TA forms prior to the start of each term the student plans to attend. The TA form must be submitted prior to the start of each term to be eligible for in-state rates for that term. In addition, the billing amount that TA will not be covering is the student’s financial responsibility and must be paid in full by the due date of each term.

Global Online students should fax the Tuition Assistance (TA) form to 724-938-4270, Attn: Debbie or email as a PDF attachment to durigon@cup.edu. In addition, the documents for Active Duty verification may be faxed and/or emailed to Debbie Durigon as well.

If you are in the Army and using TA, your branch of the service is requesting the billing statement prior to TA approval. When registering for 8-week courses in the Spring and Fall, you must register for both your first 8-week and second 8-week courses so the billing statement will reflect the correct charges for TA approval for that term. If needed, a payment plan can be used for the Fall and Spring terms if financial aid is not being used since the Army TA is based on final grades and the monies go to the student/soldier after the end of the term, not CALU.

The Global Online – Office of Web Based Programs toll free number is 1-866-595-6348.
