Summer Cooperating Teacher Development Workshops
California University of Pennsylvania holds a Cooperating Teacher Development Workshop each summer.
The workshop is designed to meet our obligations under PDE Standard 3C of Chapter 48 to provide training and orientation to the teachers who receive our student teachers. Under this standard, cooperating teachers must have a minimum of 3 years of successfull teaching experience with one of the years being in the school district and certification area relevant to the student teacher's assignment.
Teachers who work with our student teachers receive a stipend on a graduated scale, "Beginning" and "Experienced". Beginning cooperating teachers must complete the workshop and work with student teachers for three semesters to move to the "experienced" category.
Please contact the Office of Student Teaching for upcoming dates and more information.
