COLLEGE ACCREDITATIONS
Education
All of our Education programs including secondary, elementary, special, counselor, educational & administrative leadership, and technology education are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
In addition, our Special Education program is endorsed by the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). Technology Education is also officially accredited by the International Technology Education Association's (ITEA) and Council on Technology Teacher Education (CTTE). Futhermore, the undergraduate Elementary Education program has received national recognition from the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI). Both the School Counseling and Community Counseling Master's degree programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Programs (CACREP).
Human Services
The Department of Health Science and Sport Studies is home to a variety of distinguished and accredited programs. The undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education Programs (CAATE) 2005. The National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) accredits our Graduate Athletic Training Education Program (2006), and our Physical Therapist Assistant program, which began in 1999, was accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) (2001). The Sport Management Studies Program was certified by the North American Society of Sport Management in 2003. In addition, we are accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for Basic Life Support Training Programs.
The undergraduate Social Work program is also nationally accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
The Communication Disorders graduate program is accredited by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. (ASHA does not offer accreditation for undergraduate degrees)
