Undergraduate Program

The Undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program is pleased to announce that we have been awarded continuing accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education Programs (CAATE) through 2009 - 2010.  We look forward to delivering the same quality athletic training education that California University has provided over the past 25 years.

Athletic Training Education Program Highlights:

  • Over 300 alumni serving as certified athletic trainers at colleges and universities, high schools, private clinics, hospitals, professional sports, industry and the entertainment industry all across the United States.  Anywhere one finds athletic trainers, one can find California University graduates.
  • Our 120 credit program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree is designed to be completed in 4 years (8 semesters).
  • State of the art facilities and equipment in Hamer Hall and Adamson Stadium include a SwimEx therapy pool, a Cybex rehabilitation area and the latest in modalities and therapeutic exercise equipment.
  • Our 5 full time faculty members and 6 graduate assistant certified athletic trainers provide excellent instruction and supervision as students complete their clinical education.  Eleven of our athletic training faculty holds a doctoral degree in a variety of disciplines.
  • 100% placement rate for program graduates in either employment or graduate student settings.
  • Excellent reputation in athletic training circles.
  • Specialized coursework in injury evaluation taught by an orthopedic surgeon and physiatrist.  Other allied health professionals involved with the program include nurses, nurse practitioners, family medicine physicians, paramedics, physical therapists, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists, dentists and more.
  • NASM coursework to become PES certified.
