The Sport Management Studies Program is one of the fastest growing programs at Cal U. In sports business, the term "Player" takes on a new meaning. From the executive boardroom, to the playing field, to creating the balance sheets, and even at the scoreboard Sport Management majors are doing it all. They make the deals, sign the athletes, build the stadiums and license the rights. They are the high-impact players who drive and shape the $324 billion sports industry.

The Sport Management degree program at California University of Pennsylvania has received national certification from the North American Society of Sport Management (NASSM).

Of the 350 plus institutions which offer Sport Management degree programs in the USA, less than 30 have received NASSM certification. This national certification is evaluated every seven years, which will cause Sport Management Programs to remain current in the profession.

A degree in Sport Management is designed to prepare students to compete for jobs in the following sport areas:

  3. Sport Promotion
  4. Front Office Positions with Professional Teams
  5. Private Enterprise (Sporting Goods)
  6. Facility and Arena Management
  7. Event Management and Ticket Operation
  8. Various Positions Unique to Sport (ex. Olympic Committee)
  9. Communications in Sports (media)
  10. Compliance/Governance
  11. Resort Management
