Application Process

We highly recommend that you print this page before proceeding!! We are now accepting applications for January 2010 (January start)!! The deadline date for all application materials is 2 weeks before the start of the term.

Application Deadline Dates:

January 3 for students starting in the January term.
July 1 for students starting in the July term.

Financial Aid Information

This application process DOES NOT include your application for financial aid. You can apply for financial aid immediately, even before you are accepted, by completing the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid. Our FAFSA School Code is 003316. Please go to the California University Financial Aid Department Website for all of your Financial Aid needs.

General Admissions Information

  • Applications are now being accepted for the January 2010 Wellness & Fitness Track cohort, Performance Enhancement & Injury Prevention Track cohort, Sport Psychology Track cohort, and Rehabilitation Science Track cohort.  It is recommended that you apply ASAP.
  • Application for the Rehabilitation Science Track cohort is available to rehabilitation professionals (PT, ATC, OT, DC, etc.) AND other individuals who feel that they would benefit from a degree in this area.
  • Any applicant not admitted for their requested cohort start date will be considered for subsequent cohorts. All applicant files will be considered a maximum of three times over a 1 year period before the file is closed permanently.
NOTE: Be sure to specify which TRACK you are applying for in your e-mails to us and in your cover letter!!

Application Process

The application process can be completed in three easy steps by following the directions below:

Step 1:

Immediately fax your undergraduate transcript(s) for all college courses completed to us at 724-938-5712. Note that it is for Exercise Science on the fax (this step is a must and should be done immediately upon applying):

After faxing the transcript, mail all official undergraduate transcript (s) for all college courses completed to the Graduate School Office at the address below:

Step 2:

Complete the online application.

The program you are applying to is listed as Exercise Science & Health Promotion:

    • When you login to the online application for the first time, you will be requested to enter your social security number (9 digit number with no dashes). You will then be asked to enter a PIN number. If this is your first time on the application site, you will be asked to create an account with a six digit PIN number (some people use their six digit birthdate without dashes or slashes (Ex: 123085 would be the pin for a Dec. 30, 1985 birthday). If you have visited the application page previously and are asked to enter a PIN number, but you forget the PIN number, you can call (888) 412-0479 or (742) 938-4404 OR e-mail ugadmissions@cup.edu to have the PIN number reset.
    • Be sure to select 'Graduate' under application type.
    • The term you are applying for is 'Summer 2009'.
    • Your Intended Major is 'Exercise Science and Health Promotion'.
    • Select a track (concentration)
    • Location is 'Global Online'.
    • Select 'Full Time' student.

    Fill in all required fields and closely follow the instructions.

    The application fee ($25 US) can be paid online via credit card or by check. If paid by check, make check out to: California University of Pennsylvania and mail to:

Step 3:

In addition to the online application, forward the following information (see Cover Letter & Resume below) via an e-mail attachment (Word Format) to the  e-mail address listed here: tokar@cup.edu

  • Cover letter (describe interest in the program, current job title and responsibilities, and any other relevant information)

  • Updated Resume OR Curriculum Vitae with three references listed (phone and/or e-mail contact information should be listed for references).

    NOTE: If your undergraduate GPA is below a 2.75, you MUST have TWO reference letters sent to Mrs. Kelly Tokar at her e-mail  listed above or to the mailing address listed below.
