WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2010-2011 ACADEMIC YEAR!

General Information

California University of Pennsylvania has a long history of providing entry level and advanced athletic training education.  The Post-Professional Graduate Athletic Training Education Program is in its 19th year and is accredited by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) as an advanced, post-professional degree program in athletic training.  This accreditation continues through the 2011-2012 academic year.  Students completing this one-year program receive a Master of Science in Athletic Training. Students completing the program also are eligible to receive national certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  Students will learn how to use the same Optimum Performance Training Model used by the National Academy of Sports Medicine for training Olympic and Professional athletes.  During the course of the program students will also complete a Master’s Thesis, giving them a greater understanding and appreciation of the research process as it pertains to athletic training.  Courses and practical experiences will allow students to develop skills beyond entry level, making them more marketable and better prepared to excel in the profession of athletic training.
