Associate Professor Karen Hjerpe
Karen Hjerpe is the Senior Woman Administrator and Athletic Business Manager at California University of Pennsylvania since 1994. She joined the athletic department in 1993 as Women’s Volleyball Coach. Hjerpe left her coaching position in 1997 to take on the responsibilities of Athletic Business Manager.
Hjerpe earned her B.S. in Accounting from Gannon University in 1991, and a Masters Degree in Business from California University in 1997. In addition to her responsibilities as Senior Woman Administrator and Athletic Business Manager, Hjerpe is the CHAMPS/Life Skills coordinator, SAAC sponsor and is a member of the Gender Equity Committee, Athletic Forum committee, Drug and Alcohol Committee, Athletic Promotions committee, as well as other committees.
She was an NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills facilitator in 2001 and 2002. Hjerpe serves on the NCAA Leadership Conference Selection Committee and was present as an administrator at the 2004 NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference. On the national level, Hjerpe spoke at both the 2003 NACWAA Fall Forum and the 2004 NCAA Convention. She will once again serve on the NCAA Division II Regional Volleyball Committee.
Karen recently completed a Masters in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention. She lives in Canonsburg with her husband Todd, son Todd and daughters Brooke and Erin.
