Associate Professor Christine Romani-Ruby

Christine Romani-Ruby, MPT, ATC
Christine Romani-Ruby, MPT, ATC is an Associate Professor in the Wellness and Fitness program at California University of Pennsylvania. She is also a part time faculty member in the Doctorate in Physical Therapy program at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Romani-Ruby came to California University 5 years ago with 14 years of experience as a clinical Physical Therapist and 21 years of fitness experience as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, Pilates instructor and wellness director. She earned a Master's in Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, a double bachelor's in Exercise Science and Natural Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a certificate in Athletic Training from West Chester University. Her fitness certifications include AFAA (group exercise, step, and kick boxing), The Method Pilates, and a gold standard Pilates Instructor through the PMA. She served as a certification specialist for AFAA for 15 years and is an ACE faculty member and NATA BOC provider. Currently Professor Romani-Ruby is a doctoral candidate in the Administration and Leadership program, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Romani-Ruby has been active in the fields of fitness and rehabilitation developing curriculum for Pilates’ professionals nationwide. She has authored five books and several videos and is the founder and president of PHI Pilates, a corporation that offers education and certification in Pilates in America, Asia, South America and Europe. Professor Romani-Ruby is a frequent presenter on Pilates at conferences worldwide including Club Industry, IHRSA, NATA, PPTA, IDEA, Body Mind Expo and FILEX and has written articles for several fitness periodicals including IDEA Fitness Journal, Training and Conditioning Magazine, and Pilates Style Magazine. She continues to practice as a Physical Therapist and Pilates Instructor on a part-time basis.
Professor Romani-Ruby enjoys traveling, cooking, and running. She lives in Eighty Four, PA with her husband Craig and daughters Cassandra and Chloe.
