Associate Professor Ben Reuter
Ben Reuter, PhD, CSCS, *D, ATC
Ben Reuter is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Science and Sport Studies at California University of Pennsylvania. He teaches courses in the Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention graduate program and the undergraduate Wellness and Fitness track of Sport Management Studies.
Dr. Reuter is a graduate of Gettysburg College, with a degree in Health and Physical Education, emphasis Allied Health. He earned his Master's Degree, with a concentration in Athletic Training, from Old Dominion University, and his PhD in Exercise Physiology from Auburn University.
In addition to teaching at the university level Ben has worked as a clinic and outreach athletic trainer in Lexington, Kentucky and Atlanta, Georgia, as well as a strength and conditioning consultant for swimming, youth tennis, and various endurance athletes.
Dr. Reuter is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as being certified by the Pilates Method Alliance. Ben currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Strength and Conditioning Journal, a publication of the NSCA.
Dr. Reuter's research interests include injury etiology in endurance athletes, performance factors in master level athletes, and conditioning to prevent injuries. He has presented at the regional and national level of both ACSM and NSCA, as well as serving as an author and coauthor for peer reviewed publications.
