Communication Disorders Department Speech and Hearing Clinic

Speech & Hearing Clinic

Description

The Department of Communication Disorders operates an on-campus Speech & Hearing Clinic open to all members of the public and to students, faculty, and staff of California University of Pennsylvania. Services are available to individuals of all ages.

Diagnostic and therapeutic services are available for a wide variety of communication problems, including speech, language, hearing, voice, fluency, augmentative communication, and swallowing. Assistance with English for speakers of other languages is also available.

Services are provided by student clinicians enrolled in the graduate Speech-Language Pathology program under close supervision by faculty members. All faculty members are fully licensed and certified Speech Language Pathologists, one of whom is also a licensed and certified Audiologist.

Fees

Because the Clinic operates as a service to the community, fees are kept low. Fees are automatically waived for all members of the University community (students, faculty, staff) and upon request for anyone claiming financial hardship.
Fees are charged once per term for diagnostic and therapeutic services. Insurances are not accepted. A current fee schedule is available by contacting the Department.

Appointments

All services are by appointment. To schedule an appointment or to discuss a problem with a licensed/certified faculty member, please call 724-938-4175.

The Department of Communication Disorders provides clinical services to clients in a nondiscriminatory manner; that is, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, participation restriction, sexual orientation, or status as a parent.
