Economic Development Activities
California University, a proud member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, supports a varied array of economic development efforts that positively impact the economy of the surrounding communities, the region and the Commonwealth.
One example of Cal U’s economic development initiatives is Government Agency Coordination Office (GACO), which has helped area businesses obtain 29,162 contracts and subcontracts totaling over $2.2 billion. Per federal guidelines GACO can be credited with creating or saving about 56,678 jobs in western Pennsylvania.
