Applied Engineering and Technology Department 2+2+2 Robotics Technology Project

This project was financed in part by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development

2+2+2 Robotics Technology Project

Since 2005, AET has been a participant in a robotics technology 2+2+2 education partnership focusing on agile and mobile robots.  The secondary school partners in the project are A. W. Beattie Career Center (Allison Park, PA), Connellsville High School (Connellsville, PA),  McKeesport High School Technology Center (McKeesport, PA), and Mercer County Career Center (Mercer, PA).    The Technology Collaborative (TTC), a statewide economic development organization focusing on robotics, cyber-security and digital technologies industries, is the project lead.  TTC provides industry feedback on curriculum, instruction, and assessment standards.  Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Academy provides curriculum development and teacher training support.  Cal U provides curriculum articulation from the high school programs into AET's associate and bachelor degrees.  In the first two years, the project received $440,000 in funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Workforce Leadership Grant program to support this effort.
