Public Safety and University Police A Message from the Director

A Message from the Director

Dear Campus Community,

Many prospective students and their families, as well as prospective employees, have indicated their concern and interest in measures taken at colleges and universities regarding campus safety.

Safety at California University is everybody’s business. Cal U students, faculty and staff are partners with the university in creating an atmosphere that is safe and conducive to learning. Together we form a powerful team. The key to preventing crime is awareness through education. While it is not likely that you will become a victim of crime on campus, California has taken many steps to reduce the risks. The information in this handy guide, combined with practical precautions, can ensure your safety and the safety of all members of the Cal U family. Please read this guide carefully and use the information to help maintain a safe environment. Only with your help can we succeed in keeping California University a great place to live, work, and study.

This edition of the Cal U’s Safety and Security report is in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act of 1998. We hope that the information in this brochure will help to increase your personal awareness of safety and security in our campus.
