Guide to Access Your N: Drive Via the Web
Everyone who has a personal drive at CALU is now able to
access it from anywhere. You no longer need to be on campus and
logged in to retrieve your stored data. This guide details the
following:

Connecting to Your N: Drive

Copying Files to Your N: Drive

Connecting to Your
N: Drive
To gain access to your N: Drive from anywhere with an
internet connection, follow these
steps:

Open your Internet Explorer browser

When the browser opens, type the following in the
address bar: ftp://ndrives.cup.edu
-
A login box will appear, enter your email username and
password
Format:
username@cup.edu
Example:
the1234@cup.edu
-
To view this site in windows explorer click Page and
then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer.

Once connected to your N: Drive it functions like a normal
Window. You are able to copy and paste files as you
would normally on your local computer
You can also use a FTP program, such as
AbsoluteFTP, to access your N: drive.

Copying Files to Your
N: Drive
You are able to send files from your computer to your
N: Drive, once connected. In order to do this, follow these
instructions:

Connect to the FTP (see Connecting to
Your Drive)

On your computer double click the My Computer Icon
-
Browse to the folder containing the file or files you
wish to copy to your N: Drive
(You may select multiple files by holding down Ctrl while you left click
to select them)

Select the file and right click on it
-
Select 'Copy' if you would like to leave a copy on
your hard drive, select 'Cut' if you wish to delete the files from your
hard drive after they are moved

Close the window
-
In the FTP window right click and select 'Paste'.

The files will upload to your N: Drive

Copying Files from Your
N: Drive
You are able to download files from your N: Drive to your
computer, once connected. In order to do this, follow these
instructions:

Connect to the FTP (see Connecting to
Your Drive)

Once connected, select the file or files you wish to
copy from your N: Drive
(You may select multiple files by holding down Ctrl while you left click
to select them)

Right click a selected file
-
Select 'Copy to Folder'

A pop up box will appear. Browse to the folder
you would like to store the files and click OK

The files will download from your N: Drive

Exiting the FTP
After you have transferred the needed files to or
from your FTP it is advisable to close it so that no one else may
accidentally access it.

Close the FTP Window by selecting File->Close
-
Close ALL browser windows so that you completely log
out from the system.
Make sure to log out after you are done with the file
transfers you need!
