Peer Mentoring Mission & Goals of the Mentoring Program

Mission Statement

The mentoring program extends the orientation process by providing the necessary information to first years and freshman students. The program promotes and supports caring relationships between mentors and their first year students. Students are matched with mentors of the same academic program. We strive to assist students achieve the academic and social goals by encouraging involvement in the Cal U campus community.

Mentoring Program Goals

Goal #1
Promote caring and supportive mentoring relationships between new students and upper-class students within the same academic department.

Goal #2
Extend the orientation process by providing necessary information to Cal U's first semester students.

Goal#3
Help the new students achieve their academic and personal goals.

Goal#4
Encourage involvement in the Cal U campus community.
