The Tutoring Center
The Department of Academic Development Services provides free tutoring to university students. The purpose is to give each student the opportunity to develop skills and acquire knowledge needed for academic success. Tutors identify the students' academic needs and provide tutoring in most curriculum areas and supplemental instruction in selected courses.

Math Lab
The following services and resources are offered free in the Math Laboratory:
Tutorial support in math and math-related courses
Videotape tutorials on most algebra topics
Web-based math courses: homework/tutoring/testing
Math anxiety software and reference books.

Reading Clinic
The Reading Clinic offers free one–hour tutoring sessions to all students.
Techniques to improve reading comprehension and vocabulary.
Identifying main ideas, drawing conclusions, understanding concepts and facts
Test–taking skills.
Emphasis is placed on transferring these skills to college text reading.
Students can make appointments to work privately with a tutor or schedule an independent lab session that is staff-
directed.

The Writing Center provides free writing assistance to Cal U students in all academic majors and programs.

Learn how to get started on a paper, develop a first draft, revise and edit
While writing consultants don’t copyedit or proofread student papers, they will work closely with students as they learn
strategies (including editing and proofreading) for improving their own writing through revision.

CounselingCenter
Students who visit the Counseling Center may come for a one-time consultation, short-term counseling, for a referral to a long-term treatment provider or for information about other valuable campus resources.
Services provided by the Counseling Center are strictly confidential according to state and Federal law, and are available at no additional charge to California University students.
Location: Residence Hall B, Room 127

University Health Center
Staff and Hours of Operation:
A medical director, nurse supervisor, certified registered nurse practitioner, and registered nurses staff the Student Health Center. The student health center hours are:

All students must complete a Health Form which will be kept on file.
