Frederick Douglass Institute Visiting Scholar
2005 - 2006 Academic Year
The Frederick Douglass Institute Visiting Scholar Program is designed to provide graduate students with teaching experience and the opportunity to explore employment possibilities with the university. California University is committed to cultural diversity, which is in keeping with the spirit of Frederick Douglass and the mission of the university.
The Visiting Scholar will be required to teach two courses per semester and participate in department and university-wide activities. Applicant must demonstrate commitment to issues of race, gender and liberty.
Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level. Qualifications include U.S. citizenship, ABD (or in the final stages of completion of the appropriate terminal degree for the field), and an academic background in any of the disciplines taught at the university, including art, sociology, history, business, social work, education, science, and economics.
