31st Annual Summer Institute on College Teaching

June 7 - 11, 2009

The College of William and Mary

The Virginia Tidewater Consortium's Summer Institute on College Teaching is in its 31st year of helping faculty at every level and discipline to become more effective teachers. Over the years hundreds of faculty have participated in the Institute and have found it very worthwhile and rewarding. The Institute is unique in that it allows faculty members the opportunity to discuss college teaching and learning in-depth with their colleagues in an open, pleasant environment. Since enrollment in the Institute is limited to a certain number, there is ample time for one-on-one discussion with the other faculty members.

Cost: $750.00

What the Best College Teachers Do

June 17-19 - New Jersey Suburbs

Because the Summer Institute on What the Best College Teachers Do filled so rapidly this year, we have decided to add five additional places to this limited enrollment program.  If you, or any of your colleagues, are interested in taking one of these places, please let me know as soon as possible by return email and I will hold a place for you or them.  The program will be held in the beautiful New Jersey suburbs of New York City, approximately twelve miles west of Manhattan in West Orange, New Jersey.

As always, this year's highly interactive series of seminars and discussions will feature four of the outstanding teachers I wrote about in What the Best College Teachers Do (Harvard University Press.  2004).

Call 973-847-9049 or write me at Ken.bain@montclair.edu to hold your place.
