Rights and Responsibilities

As members of the California University community, students have personal rights as well as responsibilities to other community members. It is important to remember that the personal rights are extended only to the point where they interfere with the rights of others or one’s responsibilities to the university community. These rights and responsibilities are as follows:

We have the right to safety and security.
We have the responsibility to ensure the safety and security of others.
We have the right to be treated with respect.
We have the responsibility to treat others with respect.
We have the right to expect the best.
We have the responsibility to give our best.
We have the right to be treated fairly.
We have the responsibility to treat others fairly.
